Recreation Ecology Symposium
Natural spaces are experiencing a pivotal moment: overuse has become a significant challenge for their conservation, for the quality of visitors’ experiences, and for coexistence with local communities. How can we ensure that nature remains a vibrant, welcoming, and resilient space?
Within the framework of the project Flow4Bio, research project on overuse and the systematization of its management, the Recreation Ecology Symposium (RECS) was born, which will take place in Girona on December 4–5.
The aim of RECS is to create a meeting point and exchange platform for researchers, natural area managers, and professionals from various fields to share knowledge and experiences on the impacts of recreation and the most innovative management strategies. Recreation ecology, a rapidly growing discipline, provides the ideal framework to advance toward more sustainable, inclusive, and evidence-based management.
